River Dance

Carved from Colorado alabaster, River Dance captures the fluid relationship between a fish and the water that surrounds it. The sweeping curves of the sculpture suggest a fish moving through a curling wave, with the stone itself seeming to flow and turn as the composition changes from every angle.

Jerry combines smoothly polished surfaces with areas of hand-worked texture, creating contrast that helps define the movement of the water while allowing the natural color and veining of the alabaster to remain part of the piece. There is no single viewpoint—the fish, wave and water continually reveal something different as the sculpture is viewed in the round.

Mounted on a black granite base, River Dance celebrates the movement, energy and grace found beneath the water’s surface.
